| Biography: My work explores geometric form as it applies to architecture, landscape and the human
figure. I translate a memory of a place or an experience through the process of abstraction.
By observation, contemplation and repeated layering of paint, the canvas begins to reveal its
particular shapes, lines and texture. The paintings are an exploration of color and
geometric form as well a an attempt to suggest a feeling or nuance that is not cut off from
the psyche and alludes to hidden affinities and elusive qualities.
Sheryl Westergreen's work has been exhibited in solo and group exhibitions in the Pacific
Northwest, California and in Rome, Italy. Her work is in private collections throughout the
United States, including a corpororate commissions for Neehah Paper, Inc.'s boardroom in
Atlanta, Georgia and Puget Sound Energy Corporate Headquarters in Bellevue, Washington.
She received a B.F.A. in painting from the University of Washington in Seattle.
