Antonio Puri spent his early years at the foothills of the Himalayas, capturing the essence of nature in a timeless state. Later, Antonio moved to the United States to study architecture, which evolved into a fine arts degree. After struggling to make a living as an artist, Antonio decided to pursue more marketable degrees like law and business, as a means to an end in Art. After becoming a lawyer, Antonio opened an art gallery in Hoffman Estates, which also served as his personal studio. Now Antonio lives in the east coast, close to his son Alexander, and the mother of all contemporary art.
Transparent Women captures a truly unique perspective in oil painting, colored by Antonio’s worldwide experience. The vibrant colors of the Mediterranean blend with the earth tones found in South Africa, where Antonio has shown his work. His inspiration is derived from Spanish artists like Goya, Velasquez, and Gaudi, to the Dadaists and abstract expressionists like Rauschenberg and Pollock.
