Billi doesn't consider her work to either represent any historical aspect of art, nor to comply with contemporary artistic trends:.
"I have always painted and expressed myself with colours, so I don't feel I need to know what others have done before me. Of course, I know many artists and view their work with great respect, but what I do, as far as I am aware, has nothing to do with it."
Accordingly, Billi has successfully avoided being put into a particular art category or trend. It doesn't matter to her how she is interpreted. Her paintings show her great talent with colours, and illustrate a harmonious overall view of expressiveness and lightness. She uses classical style and forms of expressions just as they are, mainly in her paintings, but also in her drawings, sculptures, Video art or art installations.
"I want to my art to reach out to every person, however possible, who can feel what my paintings communicate to them; nothing more, but also nothing less!" "My main focus is on the colours, as the shapes form themselves while I paint, then the picture almost finishes itself" states Billi.
"I deliberately avoid using the word 'work', as it is often connected with something strenuous or tiresome. Painting makes me happy, and I wish the same for the owners of my paintings."
