| I am a self-taught artist, living in central Kentucky, amid the horse farms and small towns. But, don't expect to see horses, ponds and barns in my paintings. There are enough artists concentrating on those areas nearby, that I am free to explore other subjects. I use a variety of mediums, including acrylics, watercolors, gouache, ink, charcoal and graphite. Generally, I combine two or more of these materials for my 2-D art. My style changes, depending on the materials used and the subject of the art. I like to let the painting lead and I follow. I "listen" to the elements of my painting to finally achieve a balance between color, shape and depth. |
