I grew up in a Greek family which was very expressive. My family did not censor what they thought or felt it would be considered rude to do so. With all the drama going on around me people never paused to understand or reflect on the moment.

I try to paint familiar, simple things. I want to convey a sense of modern humanity about the characters in my pictures - particularly what they are feeling at that moment in time - brewing sexuality, boredom, satisfaction or anxiety.

I have a tendency to speed through life. I paint because it helps me to stop and observe the world around me and in my imagination.
