My first area of graphic exploration was photography. As a photographer, I often concentrated on the micro details of my natural environment (minerals, plants, bark, shells, etc.). The texture and patterns of these subjects show a natural rhythm and order, with endless variation. I learned from these studies how controlled accidents can open a window to an unexpected way of seeing the world, a kind of natural alchemy. This experience gave me the raw material and inspiration for creating these digital compositions, a series of limited edition giclée prints.
I am self-taught with over 35 years experience in the Graphic Arts, for the past 13 years I have worked in the Digital Fine Arts developing my own artwork and assisting other artists and galleries throughout the Southwestern United States. |
