Kaija Aittamaa, a self-taught artist, was born in Helsinki, Finland, to a family of a master carpenter and a schooled weaver. Exposure to drawing came in early childhood through her father whose way of amusing the child was storytelling while illustrating with his carpenters pen. Art and art history classes were included in her life throughout the school years. After graduation, she attended in arts and crafts school studying traditional textile designing.
She has been living in Texas since 98, pursuing her own dream, life with arts. She focuses on commissioned human portraits and animal drawings with pen and charcoal. Besides the in US, she has sold her artwork to Europe and Asia mainly through her website.
