|Based in Australia but originally from England, I have been a keen artist all her life. Studying art all through school, I have a BA Honours degree in Illustration. I have won many art competitions over the years and am the proud owner of an original piece of artwork by Tony Hart (a British artist), the 1st prize in a national competition in the UK.
I like to keep my creations bright and fun. I mainly use acrylic paint but I like to mix this up with many other materials. I've been an artist for as long as I can remember. All through school I won nearly every competition and was often called upon to design posters for the school. Studying at college and University I learnt other creative processes like screen printing, batik and photography. I thoroughly enjoy all kinds of art and design and take my inspirations from a variety of places, people and media. Over the years my influences have been Picasso, Gerard Scarff, Quentin Blake, Van Gogh, Matisse, Andy Warhol and Kandinsky.
I've been commissioning art for years, started off with family and friends and they referred me to other people. I love nothing better than putting paint to paper and transforming the clients and my own ideas into an original personal piece of work that I know carries much sentimental value and will be treasured by that person for years to come.
I use mainly acryllic on canvas but like to introduce other media into my work. I create alot of my work with stencils that I design myself, my current project is working with nature - flowers, weather...you will see this in my stencils section of my online gallery.
