|Melissa is a mixed media artist and Florida native who prefers to think of her work as a means to explore a parallel history, however fictional it may be. It all stems from the human experience which holds certain truths no matter where you are. She uses vintage photography and texture to explore fear, sentimentality, love, loss - all the major themes. She produces under the moniker Bloody Head of Medusa.
Most work is done on canvas with acrylic and a myriad of other materials, though she loves rusted metal and tin with a great patina. Canvases range in size, though at this time, the average size is 12 x 16 or 18 x 24. Inches, that is.
