Mitchell McIntyre was born in Brisbane, Australia. During his artistic career, Mitchell has exhibited his work in a number of solo exhibitions in Queensland as well as showing his work in several group exhibitions and art shows.
His current work sets up relationships between positive and negative space that are frequently ambiguous, making us unsure as to whether we are looking at a subject or the space created by the subject due to its placement. This sense of ambiguity is a defining characteristic of his process – in which negatives are rendered positives and vice versa.
Examples of his work can be found in many private collections in Australia, Slovenia, Ireland and Hong Kong.
