Sajjad Ahmed is a visual artist living and working in Pakistan.
He graduated from Beaconhouse National University, Lahore, Pakistan in 2007, where he was awarded with South Asia Foundation SAARC scholarship award for four consecutive years.
In short time of two years, his work got successful with international curators, institutions and art buyers. In 2008, his work, titled "A Capitalist Hit" was presented in Asian Art Today course work at Baptist University of Hong Kong. He primarily works with found images from media and history. His works are with various art-houses and collection in Germany, UK, India, USA, UAE and Pakistan.
In 2009, he held a series of solo shows starting with "2009 - Ways of Seeing" at Alhamra Art Gallery, Lahore, Pakistan and concluding with "Deeply Superficial, at Zahoor Ul Akhlaq Gallery, National College of Art, Lahore, Pakistan. These two episodes of solo shows included 20 new works in various mediums, subjects and scale.
Recently, his work was included in a group show, RE-CLAIM/RE-CITE/RE-CYLCE, at Travancore Art House, New Delhi, India, along with Justin Ponmany, Faiza Butt, Chitra Ganesh, Atul Bhala, Sharmila Samant and others. Other shows include "Inaugural Show" at Farah Siddiqui Contemporary Art in Colaba, Bombay, India, "Ananya" at Bajaj Capital Art House, New Delhi, India, Zeitgenoessische Kunst aus Indien--part II - Galerie Müller & Plate, Munich, Germany.
He teaches at School of Visual Art, Beaconhouse National University, Lahore, Pakistan. |
