|Most of my artistic training comes from attending various workshops. I also have received tutoring from established artists from the Ottawa and Toronto areas. The mediums which I prefer to use in fine art pieces are pastel and pencil crayon. However, I do enjoy creating pointillist works in pen and ink or acrylics. I enjoy creating work that is feminine, dreamy, figurative and spiritual. Color is extremely important in my work. I try to use color schemes using bright and strong colors.
In past I have belonged to the Manotick and Stittsville Art Associations. I have been in a few exhibits in Rideau Township hall, The Manotick Tea Room, the Manotick Art Show, churches, and the Avalon Art Gallery in Merrickville. My silkscreen cards were displayed in Gallery 215 in Toronto and the Fulford Gallery in Ottawa and I have done magazine work for "Storyteller Magazine".
One of my passions has been greeting card design and childrens illustration. Much of my fine art has been bought by greeting card publishers and I have also created a few of my own lines of greeting cards, as well as one called "Totem Cards" for a holographic healer. I have done a lot of work creating consignment pieces using photographs, fine art, graphic art and even children's art. In 1994, I won first place for two of my designs in the Strathmore Blank Greeting Card Contest: a international contest with over 3000 submissions. I obtained honorable mention two years later.
Other than this I have had various odd jobs designing business cards, brochures, flyers, consignment portraits, landscapes, logos and even store signs.
