It is said that, a photographer, photographs what he sees, while an artist paints what he feels. Photographic artist, Stephen Rogers combines a unique blend of artistic vision with incredible technique to achieve originality he has made his own. Drawing from the great artists of the past he uses todays modern technology to produce stunningly beautiful prints.
His Abstraction series depicting the female nude is a perfect example, borrowing from the key concept of Cubism, that, "the essence of objects can only be captured when seen from multiple points of view simultaneously", he photographs the models from different angles, then combines the individual images together, before applying colour. The finished images avoid the graphic portrayal of the female form so common in todays world, and instead concentrate on shape, colour, form and texture. |
