Almost every artist says this, I know, but it's really true: I've been drawing and painting since I was a child. I loved all forms of creative art.
My experiences taking classes under conservative, traditional teachers didn't quite pan out so I began to study the craft on my own, sharing it with other artists and learning from their perspectives. As a member of the Art League of Long Island I intend continue that practice on an ongoing basis.
My work is as diverse as my background: An equal blend of Latin Afro-Caribbean, African-American, Native Taino, Native Cherokee, Spanish and Irish. Through art, I make sense of my world.
Passion drives the learning.
Every life experience is fodder for more ideas.
Like all human beings, I, as well as my work, continue to evolve.
I live in New York and can be reached at susan@multiculturalartist.com. |
