Tanya Doskova is a Bulgarian-born artist now living in Vancouver. She holds a Master of Arts degree in printmaking from Bulgaria’s leading Art Academy, Nikolay Pavlovich. In 1990 she moved to London, UK, where she was featured in three solo exhibitions in Soho and had her work presented in more than 20 group exhibitions.
In 1995, Tanya won the John Purcell Prize for best lithography (London, UK). The following year her artwork won the Cannon Canada Gold and the Cannon Canada Merit Awards from the Canadian Association of Illustrators and Photographers. In 1997, she won three other major Canadian awards, including the Adobe Systems Gold Award, the Cannon Canada Bronze Award, and the Readers Digest Merit Award for Editorial Illustration.
Since 1998, Tanya has been involved in the computer animation and special effects industry as a character animator (“CG”) artist. She worked in Ridley Scott's post- production house, The Mill, and also in Jim Henson’s Creature Shop in London. Tanya has created special effects for a number of Hollywood motion pictures, including Enemy of the State, Babe 2, and Pitch Black. |
