Tom Wagner is a painter and teacher working in the Washington D. C. metropolitan area for Fairfax County Public Schools. His abstract imagery is a reaction to landscape that shaped many lives in his native Pennsylvania coal-mining town. The ravaged topography and its interplay with man and nature are recurring themes. Wagner's background in theatre surfaces in his figurative imagery. Dance and the human body are metaphores for the interconnections we experience throughout life. The paintings and drawings are often exhibited in college galleries across the country. He is included in private, corporate and public collections, and has been continually published since 1998 by commercial, research and university journals. |
