ARTIST STATEMENT
Artistic expression is profoundly transformative for me. I employ a method of
painting using strong colors and multiple transparent veils through which words and
symbols appear and disappear. Messages are buried or obscured within a piece,
revealing themselves layer by layer. I perceive these works as mysteries to be solved
by the viewer.
Memories, dreams, desires, emotions, humor, movement, and passion influence my
art. I revel in creating thought provoking pieces. Much of the work is intuitive and
spontaneous, seeming to drive me rather than me driving the work.
