Allan Karms is born 28/9 1933 in Copenhagen.
Already as a child he was inspired by the young artists, who were regular visitors at the home of his parents. His home was near parts of the old Copenhagen harbour-Klondike ("Nokken"). Already at the age of 12, he went there do sketches. Even though he later on, through his 56 yers as a professional artist, has moved through a large world of motifs, the memories of the old harbour area comes to him now and then. In 1952 he received a first class with distinction at the Technical Scool of Painting in Copenhagen under the patronage of King Frederik IX and Queen Ingrid.
From that time on he has developed a technique of art, of which he can earn his living. |
