Sylvia Herrington graduated with honors from Eastern Michigan University with a Bachelor's Degree in Fine Arts. She was awarded a one woman show when she won first place for watercolor painting in the Annual Symposium for the Arts.
"I paint non-objective watercolors based on my inspiration from nature. I often use wet-on-wet techniques to illustrate how nature flows and evolves.
I approach watercolor painting as an art and as a science because I experiment a lot with the medium. Thus far, I am not interested in utilizing any other medium, for watercolor still holds much excitement for me. |
