Ernesto Cuevas |
| Biography: Ernesto Cuevas, Jr. was born in Harlingen, Texas and raised in Plant City, Fl. Ernesto grew to love the arts through his experience in the fields with his mother and father who were migrant farm workers during his youth. His artwork represents a deep understanding and love for his culture and history. The support of his parents and their transition from the fields to a more stable life style gave Ernesto the ability to begin searching for both academic and artistic empowerment.
The Boys & Girls Clubs of America has had a profound impact on Ernesto's life. At the forefront of his Boys & Girls Club experience was his art. Ernesto has spent a lot of time working with youth in the arts, both through the Boys & Girls Clubs, and on his own.
Ernesto attended Dartmouth College in Hanover, NH where he majored in Studio Art, and concentrated in oil panting. Prior to starting RedCielo, Ernesto was the lead graphic designer for ECS, Inc. in Woodstock, Ga. Ernesto also worked as a graphic designer and 3D animator with the technology support group at the C. Everett Koop Institute at Dartmouth College. Also, Ernesto was recently commissioned to do several paintings for the newly established Latino Resource Center at Dartmouth College.
