Biography: Artist Biography: I studied art at Grossmont Community College in El Cajon San Diego and At San Diego State University. I personally belive that the study of art never ends and knows no bounds. Everything I do and think can find it's way into my art. One of my favorite ways to spend my days is taking my boys to the beach. We have a great time and I fill my sketchbook with studies of the beaches and bays around San Diego, drawings of palm trees, my boys enjoying the ocean, seashells, seagulls, boats, and anything else that catches my eye. I choose bright clear colors for my paintings because I find them uplifting and expressive. I work quickly to maintain the mood of each piece and I allow my feelings to flow into my work. My typical mediums are watercolors, acrylic paints and ink, alone and in mixed media applications these all deliver the color intensity and immediacy I need in my art. My most popular paintings to date have been my horse head paintings. Combining a whimsical sense of fun with a formate reminisant of religious icon paintings, they represent the idea that horses have become decorations rather than nessecities for modern life.
