Mike MacDonald
| Biography: Mike MacDonald is a Canadian multi-media artist working in video, photography, installation and on the world wide web. Mike also plants gardens using traditional native medicine plants to attract butterflies and create healing environments. He has created more than twenty gardens on the grounds of galleries and museums across Canada.
In October 2000 Mike received the first Aboriginal Achievement Award for New Media based on his essay "Indians in Cyberspace" and his "Butterfly Garden" web site. The site was revised and expanded in 2002.
Mike is proud of his mixed heritage including Mi'kmaq, Beothuck and European ancestry. He travels from coast to coast across Canada every year creating new work.
