Art and Collectible Cards

Collectible Cards.
Many of the now widely popular collectible trading card games have considerable artistic content. New cards are published regularly with new artwork. The Star Wars, Star Trek and Babylon 5 games use movie stills; the Pokémon and Illuminati games use anemie or cartoon drawing; and the Doomtown, Magic, and Legend of the Five Rings games use vivid brightly colored illustrations. Doomtown is probably the most artistically rich, and best playing of these games. Nine Doomtown cards illustrated by Byron Wackwitz, Art Director of Doomtown during its artistic development are on display in Broadcast Electricity.

Best of Pod.
Alison McMahon's page http://members.tripod.com/~AliMcJ/index.html won Best of Pod for September. It was chosen for the variety of work displayed, for the anecdotal explanations of motives, choices, sources, and places that go with the paintings, for the connections to other of art pages under the umbrella of Ali's McArchives, and for the humor in many of the pieces.
