Wassily Kandinsky Wassily Kandinsky (1866-1944)
Kandinsky was born in Moscow and paited in Munich. He contibuted to modern styles
-- abstract, geometric and German expressionism, fantasy, and romantic superabundance, and movements -- Blue Rider and Bauhaus. He painted nonrepresentational watercolors. He published 'Concerning the Spiritual in Art', which examined the psychological effects of color and made comparisons between painting and music.
