There are youth centers in Los Angeles where kids play chess and collectible card games. The centers are mostly non-commercial but do sell chess lessons and collectible cards to support themselves. The founder started to call them "stores", and everything ran better. He explained that a "store" is easy to understand -- its purpose is simply to sell something; whereas, a youth center is harder to put a handle on -- its purpose is complex. Similarly, with Digital Consciousness, there are those who will understand it only because it has a store. Its purpose is, however, much deeper, as anyone who has spent time with it will appreciate. |
