A: I play, collect the cards, trade them and teach the game. I have been into the game for 8 weeks.

Q: How long does it take to learn the game?
A: 15 minutes.

Q: How often do you play?
A: 5-6 days a week.

Q: Do you like the T.V. show?
A: Yes, but not the very beginning episodes.

Q: What is your favorite pokémon?
A: Chansey because he is defensive.

Q: What is your favortie deck?
A: Raindance. It brings in power early and overwhelms the opponent with energy.

April 2 -- Interview with Bobby R., 12, Two time past Pokémon Tourament winner

Q: What is your experience with Pokémon?
A: My friends liked it a lot. They played the game boy.  Then I found everybody playing the collectable card game at the Gym for the Mind.  At first I thought there was too much luck, but that's not so.  I got good water and fighter cards.  I would have made the finals in the first tournament, but was disqualified becuse I had 67 cards. (Only 60 cards are allowed). I won the 6th and 7th tournaments I entered.

Q: What other games do you play?
A: Doomtown, Legend of the Burning Sands, Dune, Magic, but mostly STARCRAFT on the Internet!

Q: Do you like the T.V. show?
A: It's pretty good, I can only watch the first 10 mins in the mornings.

Q: What is your favorite pokémon?
A: Zapdos.  I like him a lot.  He is in the gameboy game.

March 28-- Interview with Shaun-Michael, Pokémon Tourament winner

Q: What is your experience with Pokémon?
A: I've been playing since the week the game came out.  Mike K. gave me a bunch of cards.  I started out with those and made a deck and went from there.  I then won a free box of cards that helped me out a lot.

Q: How often do you play?
A: Every other day.

Q: Do you like the T.V. show?
A: Sometimes. I hate the reruns.

Q: What is your favorite pokémon and pokémon deck?
A: Alakazam and Zap Psyhic.

Q: What do you like about the game?
A: It's kinda cool.  Even though it is restrictive for a collectable card game with only 102 cards, very creative decks can be made.  It shows how much skill kids have.  You would think that all the good decks have been made already, but little kids keep coming up with new ideas that surprize you.

March 26 -- Interview with Drew U. 11 year old Pokémon Trainer

Q: What is your experience with Pokémon?
A: I've been playing 11 weeks.  On February 14, I won the first Pokémon tournament.  It was a three round elimination tournament with 8 people.  It lasted an hour, I played a Fighting Grass deck with no foil cards and I won a Zap theme deck.   Later, I won a 32 player tournamnet and got the prize of 3 first edition boosters, and a roll of a 12 sided die for a chance to get a whole box of cards.

Q: How did you become interested in the Pokémon card game?
A: I was playing Legend of the Burning Sands at the Gym for the Mind, and everyone else began to play pokémon, so I did too.

Q: How often do you play?
A: Everyday.  I've taught my parents how to play.

Q: What are your favorite pokémon?
A: Zapdos because he is one of the few birds in the game, and Chansey, the biggest basic pokémon.

Q: Do you like the U.S. Pokémon web site?
A: Yes. it's very neat.

March 21 -- Interview with Sean L. 10 year old Pokemon Trainer

Q: How long have you been playing Pokemon?
A: A little while.  I know quite a bit about the game. If you start with a starter set, you get a combination of fighting and fire, and a rulebook.  Kids understand the book better than adults so parents should ask their kids to explain the game to them rather than reading the rules.  Of course when I read the rules, I got the game right away.

Q: How did you become interested in the Pokemon card game?
A: From an ad on a video tape.   It made me realize that there was a whole world of Pokemon out there.

Q: Do you like the T.V. show?
A: Yes, the T.V. show is great.   So are the comics and the videos.

Q: What is your favorite card?
A: Haunter, because he is a ghost.  Psyics can't take control of him because he has no body and and he can't be hurt by Tackle or Takedown.

Q: Favorite Deck?
A: Electric and Fire.
