Originally from Moscow, Russia Andrew Abramov now resides in Shreveport, Louisiana. Andrew was born in 1963 and has been painting professionally since 1989.
He is a graduate of Moscow High Art and Industrial Institute (former Stroganovskoe) where he was a restorer of decorative art (Russian icons and frescos). For a number of years Andrew worked as a restorer for the Russian State museums. His specialty was XVII century icons.
Technique and style of the icons impressed Andrew and influenced his figurative paintings and landscapes.
He started exhibiting his work in Moscow in 1989. Among the most prestigious shows he participated in were the annual exhibitions of The Russian Art Union and the annual "Gold Brush" exhibition in Moscow.
Andrew has been living in the U.S. since 1986. His paintings were presented
at art shows in Kent, Ct, Brooklyn, N.Y. and two one man shows in Shreveport.
